Mount Rusmore is a great place to visit while you are in South Dakoto. South Dakota is an amazing state that has many attractions, but this monument is one of the best attractions you can go to. Carved into the rock are the faces of 4 of the greatest United State Presidents. From left to right you have George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and lastly Abraham Lincoln.
There is a walk-way to get closer to the monument. On this walk-way you can see the flags for all of our states with information about when the states joined the United States. There are also other places you can go to get a little bit of history about Mount Rushmore and other things related to it. There is a store where you can buy souvenirs and even an ice cream shop!
Mount Rushmore is truly a great place to visit and if you happen to like it, there is another monument that is still being carved not to far from Mount Rushmore. This monument is the Crazy Horse Monument which when finished, will be the largest carved monument in the world.
